Two hours of interactive presentation within a group setting
The focus will be on the temperate rainforests which feature along the western side of the UK. Previously known as the Atlantic / scrub oak territory. We have the perfect damp, wet climate for plants to grow on plants as epiphytes – examples like mosses, lichens and polypody ferns.
Continuing with this term’s hedgerow theme, we will be looking at the rowan tree in more depth and uses for the berries as they continue to ripen.
Within the cultivated garden, time is ripe for autumn pruning – but which plants and how? These horticultural questions will be answered with visual demonstration. And finally, there will be a gardeners’ question time. Please bring in any ailing leaves and twigs for general discussion.
